FOCUSED ON THE ISSUES THAT MATTER

AARON’S PRIORITIES FOR INDIANA

Protecting Your Tax Dollars

Hoosier families deserve to decide what to do with their hard-earned money and Aaron believes our government must live within its means:

  • As State Senator, Aaron has only supported honestly balanced budgets, repeatedly voted against costly tax increases, and helped to deliver the largest tax cut in Indiana’s history, which has provided billions in tax relief by cutting utility taxes, providing property tax relief, and cutting income taxes, making Indiana’s income tax one of the lowest in the country.
  • Aaron has, and always will, continue to support the permanent property tax caps which keep taxes low and predictable.
  • Aaron believes Hoosier families and businesses should not be punished with higher taxes simply because they have found success by working hard and creating jobs in our communities.

Empowering Successful Futures in the Classroom

As a father of two young boys, Aaron understands the transformative power a high-quality education has on the future of our children:

  • Aaron is committed to fighting to ensure local schools receive their fair share. He has provided record education funding for local schools, including teacher pay raises and money to modernize and make schools safer.
  • Aaron has been an advocate for parents and students. He voted to give parents a greater voice at school board meetings, supports literacy programs to help students read at their grade level, and supports increasing transparency and accountability from schools, so parents are better informed about their children’s education.
  • In 2023, Aaron championed the landmark Science of Reading bill to ensure that every student is given the tools to learn to read and ensure their future is bright.
  • During his days on the City-County Council, Aaron proudly supported the state’s first Pre-K program in Indianapolis.

Encouraging Job Creation & Development

As an entrepreneur and successful small business owner, Aaron understands the challenges facing Hoosier businesses. As our State Senator, he will continue:

  • To work to help businesses attract, expand, and retain high-wage jobs and invest in our local communities.
  • Supporting policies that create a business-friendly tax environment to encourage them to create and invest in local jobs.
  • Investing in infrastructure improvements to attract new businesses to southeast Indianapolis and Indiana as a whole.

Creating Safe Neighborhoods

Aaron understands the benefits of ensuring the public safety of all Hoosiers and is passionate about keeping our streets safe:

  • As a former Marion County deputy prosecutor and chair of the senate committee that oversees public safety, Aaron is dedicated to giving law enforcement the resources they need to do their jobs and make our communities safer from crime, violence, and drugs.
  • Aaron has always put public safety ahead of politics. As our State Senator, he has worked to increase public safety funding in order to combat violent crime and drug abuse.
  • Aaron recognizes that we’re facing a mental health crisis, so he’s helped to provide more funding for mental health and addiction services.
